NAP – Best tip overnight
MY AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 5 AT ECHUCA ON SUNDAY MORNING!
Race 5 Echuca 4.20 Lempicka (best price 10/11)
Likeable mare who impressed getting her head back in front at Cranbourne 3 starts back; beaten twice since but would have needed the run on reappearance at Flemington; shaper now and this easier so big chance.
This should pan out perfectly for LEMPICKA and I make her the one to beat. Her win at Cranbourne last campaign was convincing enough and given she would have needed the outing on return at Flemington with added fitness on side now she should get back in the winners enclosure. Who Shot Suzy had been knocking on the door before disappointing at Sandown and if bouncing back might emerge as the danger. Red Red Wine won at Bendigo 3 starts back but has been beaten twice since. Given plenty of time since and might get competitive but probably will come on for the run. Pravro is massively exposed compared to those mentioned above and was nearer last than first at Moonee Valley on reappearance. Bullet Rider can do better at some point but likely up against it.

Race 6 Canberra 5.15 Distillate (best price 2/1)
Progressive mare who got herself back in the winners enclosure at Randwick last month to make it 2 wins from her last 4 starts; likely more to come yet and under aggressive tactics may well prove hard to catch.
This looks all about DISTILLATE to me and if she repeats that Randwick win last month that may well suffice. She will go forward and try and run these into the ground. Shores Of Avalon has been running to a consistent level and might be the main danger but I still think she could prove vulnerable at the business end. Southern Lad is more exposed but does have 7 wins to his name so still has to be respected. Look Only won at Sapphire Coast and then knocked on the door at this track before blowing out somewhat at Randwick. If bouncing back she might be a bit of value to rattle the frame. Washington Towers has been really poor lately but should be better than that and this is a bit easier. Akeed is a bit hit and miss but this doesn’t have a great deal of strength in depth so might have a squeak.
