Race 5 Rosehill 4.20 Mogo Magic (best price 4/5)

Exciting sort who is a perfect 3-3 having won again at Randwick when last seen back in February; open to further improvement on return and very much the one to beat in this field.

I fancy MOGO MAGIC to remain unbeaten at Rosehill on Saturday morning. He was flying last campaign and with more to come should bring up the four-timer. Emperor is on a hat-trick and impressed at Doomben last month. If progressing again looks the biggest danger. Remember Jack is 3 from 5 overall and has won his last two so looks on the upgrade now. If he improves again he is another one that could get competitive in this. Salire didn’t shape badly when fourth at Warwick Farm but this looks a good race so he’ll need much more to spring an upset in this.

Race 1 Sunshine Coast 3.18 Defiant Spirit (best price 1/1)

Promising type who made a bright start winning on debut at this track and then backed that up with a big run in second at Ipswich last time, denied just a neck; more to come now.

There was lots to like about the way DEFIANT SPIRIT ran even in defeat last time and if he progresses again he is the most likely winner of this. De Sonic Boom scored on debut but has suffered a couple of heavy defeats since. Femme Fatale is 2-2 but this looks a stronger race. She could still improve again and I think she might even be the main danger in this. Kitri won on debut too and looks a nice filly going forward but should do better for the experience here as they will not hang about. Both Spirit Of Brodie and Mishani Ambitious also arrive in winning form but this has strength in depth.
