Race 2 Pakenham 4.00 Explosive Rosie (best price 11/8)

Improving filly who caught the eye finishing third on debut and then ran well in defeat again at this track when last seen; given time since and almost certainly has more to come so should get off the mark now.

First-time blinkers should see the improving EXPLOSIVE ROSIE get off the mark. This likeable filly has shown more than enough to suggest she has the ability to win a race like this so no surprise to see her trading as favourite at the time of writing despite this big field. Elbe Valley was only midfield on debut but is open to improvement so could be the danger. Perilous Fighter is a promising colt but he finished last on debut and he might need more time and experience to come good. The rest are all double figures and look to be up against it.

Race 8 Muswellbrook 7.35 Seahaven (best price 15/8)

Progressive sort who has won 3 of his last 5 starts and with a perfect record of 2-2 over track and trip should prove hard to beat once more; can improve again so comfortably the most likely winner in this.

Great chance for the progressive SEAHAVEN to win again. Another big field but his form looks a cut above and with more to come he really should have too much for these rivals. The Carpet Bagger has finished runner-up on 2 of his last 3 so if in that sort of form again might be the one to chase home the favourite. Keikoku was in winning form at Coonamble last time but this is definitely tougher and he might be vulnerable especially if the selection improves again as expected. Adelsun might be capable of more but again this is a deep enough contest on paper.
