MY AUSTRALIAN NAP WON OVERNIGHT AND RUNS IN RACE 1 AT MACKAY ON FRIDAY!

Race 1 Mackay 3.41 Vana Star (best price 4/5)

Useful mare who was only beaten narrowly at Rockhampton last month; goes up in trip again and with more to come as her stamina is drawn out she could easily get back to winning ways here; worth chancing.

No surprise to see VANA STAR a warm order for this. She probably should have won a few more times but her form is still hard to knock and up in trip again she remains completely unexposed so if improving will get back to winning ways here. Koonunga Hill is a decent yardstick and he looks the biggest danger. He didn’t run too good at Townsville last time though so will need to better that to have a serious chance. Sarnia is similar to the latter and she needs to bounce back to get involved. The rest seem to be up against it so the favourite should justify cramped odds.

Race 4 Geelong 4.40 Okay Cupid (best price 7/4)

Promising type who improved again to get within a length of victory at Bendigo last month; should strip fitter from that again and with more to come should be able to make the breakthrough now; big shout.

The unexposed OKAY CUPID looks ready to strike at Geelong on Friday. He has improved with each start and ran a very nice race at Bendigo last time. This is winnable and there really shouldn’t be any excuses. Royalz is second fav but she is 0/6 now and will need more to upset the selection. Only Love makes her debut and could be a nice prospect but will likely need the outing. Redfern has blown out the last twice but did shape quite well on debut so if bouncing back could surprise a few. Box Of Crackers could still be capable of better so not one to give up on yet either.
