MY AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 7 AT DEVONPORT ON SUNDAY MORNING!

Race 7 Devonport 6.37 Seydoux (best price 11/8)

Promising mare who looked good completing a hat-trick of wins at this track last month; denied narrowly at Hobart last time missing by just a nose; can improve again so obvious chance.

Hard to look past SEYDOUX as she bids to get back to winning ways. She has won 3 of her last 4 and missed just a nose last time. She has more to come after just 13 starts and should get the job done. Vivilici has knocked on the door the last twice and she could be the danger. Vetlanda is a decent yardstick and she looks best of the rest but she was well down the field at this track last time so comes here with enough to prove at present. Ethical Dilemma is exposed so will likely find a few improvers too strong and is deservedly a double figure price.

Race 5 Sunshine Coast 5.53 Thorpe (best price 6/4)

Likeable type who is improving with experience; firmly in control at the line at Ipswich last month and with further improvement to come should be able to complete the hat-trick here.

This should be between the top 2 in the betting but I’m confident THORPE can complete the hat-trick. He won by 2 lengths last time and still looks like he can raise his game further. The obvious danger is fellow last time out winner Ocean Zar who impressed at Eagle Farm and like the selection can go on to better things. Lady Le Da has won 2 from 7 but has placed 3 times too so is pretty consistent. She was back to form when third at Ipswich last time so will likely fare best of the rest. Sizzling Gal won at Mackay and then knocked on the door at Ipswich but still needs more.
