Unexposed mare ASGARDA is expected to be hard to beat at Albury on Friday. She impressed winning at Cootamundra on penultimate start and then had excuses when only beaten narrowly at Wagga last month. This is easier and if she improves again she will win. Miss Athena is a decent enough yardstick but with just 1 win from 14 she will likely prove vulnerable again. That could leave Remigius as a greater danger.

This looks a great opportunity for GRASSMERE JEWEL to get back in the winners enclosure. She made the breakthrough over track and trip back in September and then followed up at Casterton completing a hat-trick on penultimate start. She was only beaten narrowly at Warrnambool last month and from a good draw shouldn’t have any excuses here. Easy Jay looks to be the biggest danger if bringing his best.
