I have always thought a fair bit of GOOD RISK AT ALL and it was good to see him make a winning start over fences at Carlisle last month. He was heavily backed that day and while main danger Giovinco took a fall the way he finished off his race he may well have won anyway. The latter has since bounced back and won well at Aintree so the form has been franked to some extent. This will be a good test of his credentials but he looks a nice prospect and I’m keen to keep him on side for now.

Mister Coffey is the closest in the betting but I am more fearful of Weveallbeencaught as he could be dangerous if getting into a decent rhythm up top.

The money for Unexpected Party is quite interesting and he will likely go well seeing as his win over Knappers Hill has been franked. I prefer NOTLONGTILLMAY though who has also had his form boosted. He was fourth to Dancing On My Own over 2 miles at this track last month and the runner-up Triple Trade was impressive winning yesterday. He will strip fitter now and looks primed to run a big race.

Unexpected Party should run well along with Stage Star but I can actually see Easy As That for Venetia Williams being the main danger especially if the rain comes.

Regal Reality is the class act in the field but he has to give weight away and I don’t think this will be easy. He has made a habit of bumping into one or two recently too and isn’t getting any younger. I prefer FOXES TALES for Andrew Balding. He looked good on the AW winning at Kempton back in April and given he has won fresh I think he’ll be fit enough to do himself justice.

Blue Trail clocked a career best winning at Meydan but failed to back that up at Newmarket. If he bounces back he could be the one to give the selection most to think about. Tyrrhenian Sea has a bit to prove but is also quite interesting.

The Pipe team were seen to good effect at Cheltenham yesterday with American Sniper winning a competitive handicap in good style. They have PLACENET in this and he could also be well handicapped with Jack Tudor in the saddle. He is a hard horse to assess coming over from France but there is good reason to think 124 could prove lenient. He stretches out to 3 miles for the first time and if seeing out the trip must be in with a huge chance. There is a fair bit of rain due but he is proven in soft ground in France so that won’t bother him and I’m confident of a big run.

Plenty of dangers likely headed by Buddy One who impressed at Galway and if handling a 9lb rise should run well up in trip. Shan Blue would also have a squeak granted a clear round.

After a couple of poor runs at Ascot it was good to see MISCHIEF MAGIC back to his best winning readily at Kempton last month. He moves through that race like a smart horse and was always doing enough. He is unbeaten on the AW having won both starts at Kempton and is expected to follow up here. He is a little uneasy in the betting but I’m confident and 7/4 is worth snapping up.

Willem Twee impressed winning despite breaking slowly at Kempton and has a good record on the AW so looks the main danger. Tacarib Bay also arrives with confidence high and is noted too.

Springwell Bay is a useful horse but he faces no easy task here lugging around 12 stone and I think he is a bit short in the betting. I’m fairly confident the value lays with RESPLENDENT GREY who bumped into Captain Teague at Chepstow. I know that horse was beaten yesterday but he ran well and still looked a bit raw so I wouldn’t read loads into that. He is improving and now switched to handicaps could go forward again.

Springwell Bay won at Ascot and Wetherby before finishing sixth to Irish Point at Aintree so looks the danger but I wouldn’t have too much between them in the betting.
