Quite a few felt STAY AWAY FAY was workmanlike at Exeter but I was impressed with the performance and he is sure to improve from that. It was his first start over fences and he also shaped like he'd come on for the run but he still managed to win. He hit the line hard and Grey Dawning has strongly franked the form since winning impressively at Haydock next time. He should make it 2-2 here before going on to better things. Giovinco quickly put things right to win at Aintree and looks the obvious danger.

Hard to oppose SOUTHOFTHEBORDER here who is yet to taste defeat. He ran on well to win a bumper at Ffos Las back in March and improved again to make a stylish hurdles debut over 2 miles at this track last month. He has plenty of scope for further progression and the step up in trip is also another notable plus. Conditions shouldn't be an issue and it is no surprise to see him top the betting despite this looking a decent renewal. Insurrection impressed beating Diamond Ri at Exeter and is the danger as he can improve again too.
