Newmarket 2.25
Endless Victory is unbeaten having won both starts to date and he is understandably a short priced favourite but he did only prevail by a short head over C&D a couple of weeks ago so I don’t think it will be straightforward. I’m going to chance WHIP CRACKER upsetting the odds. This Cracksman colt bumped into a nice horse in Jayarebe on return and with that under his belt and tackling an extra furlong he might improve enough to win this.
It is not just a two-horse race though as Caviar Heights was just a place behind the selection on debut for Karl Burke and could also have more to come. Sayedaty Sadaty was only denied a neck on return and is another one to note in a good renewal.
Another Richard Hughes horse I like now in the shape of ELLOMATE. This Mehmas colt was well backed ahead of his debut at Wolverhampton and despite only finishing third I thought there was a lot of encouragement to take from that outing. He just had to be woken up early and he ran green when asked to close. The penny seemed to drop late and he should be spot on for this now.
Brosay needed the run on debut but improved when third at Dundalk last month and he sets the standard on that so with more to come looks the obvious danger. Gold Medallist is the most interesting of the debutants so watch the market on that one as the yard have made a fast start with their juveniles.
Newmarket 3.00
I know NOBLE DYNASTY failed to land the odds in Dubai but he was only actually beaten 2 lengths. He remains lightly raced for his age and I’m looking forward to seeing him back on these shores. We know he likes this track and given he had won 3 of his last 4 before that blip at Meydan I expect him to get firmly back on track against this field. I expect him to be well backed come post time so I’ll be keeping a close eye on the betting.
English Oak is still unexposed having only run a handful of times as a 3yo and he will be a big danger if improving again. Thunder Ball is consistent and likeable and is another one I can see getting competitive at least.
Newmarket 3.00
Main danger English Oak but expect Thunder Ball to run another solid race
Goodwood 3.15
This is definitely one of the more open races on ITV on Friday but I do think BALDOMERO will run well. He has been mega consistent albeit without getting his head in front and again ran a cracker beaten less than a length into second at Newmarket last month. He is only 1lb higher and looks nailed on to give his running again. Many A Star, Indian Creek and Live In The Moment could all go forward and that could help him too.
Bishop’s Crown arrives on a hat-trick but he is up another 6lb so that will make things a bit tougher. Spanish Star is the one being backed but he is burdened with top-weight so it won’t be easy. I think this is more open than the betting is suggesting.
Newmarket 3.35
With that reappearance run under his belt I’m fully expecting BOILING POINT to get back to winning ways here. He just looked a little outpaced on return eventually beaten a length but should be spot on for this now and can go one better. The horse that beat him Ten Bob Tony is going for the Guineas so that tells you how highly they rate him but I just think it was a case of blowing the cobwebs away and I’m anticipating much better here.
Bold Style was a place behind the selection on return so on that form looks the danger. He has only had 3 starts so will keep improving. Queen Of Zafeen is plenty talented and she probably should still be unbeaten but this is a tough enough ask.
Goodwood 3.50
I backed DREAM COMPOSER at Newmarket and he fluffed his lines at the start and was always on the back foot. I wouldn’t judge him too harshly on that and back at a track we know he goes well at I think he could bounce straight back. The headgear is back on so he should be sharper out the gate and with just the 4 rivals to beat could end up being a warm order come post time.
Clarendon House is worth a second look back in a handicap and he finished a close second in this race a couple of years ago. Desperate Hero needed the run on reappearance and might pose a greater threat if stripping fitter.
Newmarket 4.10
With her sights lowered I’m expecting TIME LOCK to make a winning return here with the yard firing. This mare by Frankel won a French Listed race last September and then showed a potent turn of foot to win the Group 3 Princess Royal Stakes over C&D 4 weeks later. She wasn’t disgraced up to the top level at Ascot on final start but this is more realistic and she is expected to take a lot of beating.
Castle Way let backers down at Meydan when last seen but freshened up since if bouncing back could be the danger. Naqeeb should have more to come this season and is another one to note.
ITV Racing Lucky 15
I have combined 4 horses running live on ITV Racing on Friday to make a Lucky 15. This looks a good bet. Pays 100/1!
