Newmarket 1.45
A competitive opener on ITV on Saturday and a chance is taken on ROHAAN producing the goods. He was an eye-catcher on return finishing a close-up fifth at Lingfield and while he didn’t really build on that at Kempton back on turf and just 1lb above his last winning mark I can see him running a big race.
Obviously quite a few dangers likely headed by Apollo One who has won fresh in the past. He is back down to a workable mark and should run well. Noble Style is also quite intriguing now handicapping with the headgear left off.
Goodwood 2.05
Breege is a bit of a cliff horse for me but I’ve left her well alone now (so she’ll probably win) as I can see NOVUS going close. She looked good winning over this C&D last year and despite failing to fire on return I expect her to be a lot sharper this time with headgear reached for.
Orchid Bloom is still unexposed and if taking another step forward could be the danger. Choisya has plenty of ability and is another one that could run well as long as the ground isn’t too deep.
Newmarket 2.20
I know TORITO failed to deliver on his final start but he had won 2 of his last 3 prior to that and he wasn’t disgraced anyway finishing fourth. I think he has lots more to come as a 4yo given how lightly raced he is and this is a good starting point before progressing again.
Liberty Lane didn’t really fire in the Lincoln but on the pick of his form he could definitely get competitive in this. Majestic is another one I can see being on the premises if they go an end to end gallop.
Thirsk 2.40
I know he is likely to go off favourite but NORTHERN EXPRESS really does catch the eye. He was a good fifth on reappearance at Newmarket and he should be spot on for this now. He has only run here twice and that resulted in a close second and a win. He still has potential off this mark and will run big.
La Trinidad is quite interesting back from a break if returning to form. Racingbreaks Ryder is still just a 4yo and might leave his reappearance run behind too. Hiromichi another one to note.
Thirsk 2.40
Northern Express 13/2 each way
Main danger La Trinidad but Racingbreaks Ryder could go well and Hiromichi feared too
Newmarket 2.55
Beaten just 2 lengths on reappearance if MITBAAHY improves he will be hard to beat in this. I know Roger Varian held him in quite high regard and Charlie Hills has been impressed with what he has seen. Back down to 5f he’ll want them to go hard but I think he might be the one finishing best under Spencer.
Vadream would be interesting if there is more rain but it is due to dry out so she could be a drifter come post time. Twilight Calls is the one I fear most as he can fire when fresh and is plenty talented albeit disappointing in this last year.
Newmarket 3.35
All eyes will be on City Of Troy to see if he can live up to expectation but we have seen a few O’Brien hotpots beaten in this over the years and he isn’t a certainty to train on. They had a fair bit of rain yesterday but the track dries out quickly so it will be different conditions to what he experienced when winning the Dewhurst last year. Obviously he could be exciting but from a price perspective I’m keen to chance ROSALLION. This colt has won 3 from 4 and looks to have serious gears. This is his ideal trip and a lot of his form has been franked so 6/1 looks appetising.
Of the rest Ghostwriter still has untapped potential and should run well too especially if the track keeps drying.

I have combined 4 horses running live on ITV Racing on Saturday to make a Lucky 15. This looks decent value and you could even go each way. Pays 630/1!
