Sandown 1.50
This looks a great chance for LIVE IN THE DREAM to get himself back in the winners enclosure. He won the Nunthorpe last year and returned with a big run to go down just half a length at Haydock. He stumbled leaving the stalls last time and then rushed up and probably overraced as a result. He wasn’t disgraced in fifth but I do think he is better than what he managed to show there. This track favours speed and if he is quick away he might always be on top.
The danger is probably Desperate Hero as he looks quite a progressive 4yo now having won his last two. This is obviously a big step up out of handicap company but I can see him going well. Twilight Calls has tons of ability but is quite a tricky ride but is also respected.
Haydock 2.05
This is definitely one of the more competitive races on ITV on Saturday but I do think WILD WAVES will give us a good run for our money. This good looking colt has won his last two and impressed with how he asserted at Doncaster last month beating a good yardstick in East India Dock. He has only had a handful of starts and despite a 7lb rise could improve again so must have a big shout.
Dramatic Star improved to make the breakthrough at Hamilton on just his third start last month and is feared on handicap debut. He lacks experience though but the trip must be in his favour. Too Bossy For Us is likeable and ran well when third at Thirsk so is another one in with a squeak.

Main danger Dramatic Star but look out for a big run from Too Bossy For Us as well
Sandown 2.25
The stable form is a bit of a concern as Richard Hannon has gone a bit quiet recently but even so CLASSIC should have a good chance in this. He has run plenty of times at this track and got within a neck of victory over C&D last month. He clocked a good speed figure in defeat that day and the winner Two Tempting had won a decent handicap at Epsom prior to that so the form is solid. He is only up 1lb and a repeat would see him bang there.
Two Tempting opposes again so must have a chance and Metal Merchant is another one I can see getting involved as he wasn’t disgraced at Royal Ascot last month.
Haydock 2.40
Another filly on the upgrade is TIFFANY for Sir Mark Prescott. She has now won 4 of her last 5 starts and was nicely on top to win a Group 3 at Newcastle on reappearance. She should have more to offer back on turf and I think she is one to keep firmly on side despite going up in grade.
Queen Of The Pride is unexposed and has won 2 of her last 3 so could be the biggest danger. Lady Boba was beaten just a short head by the latter last month so is another one that must enter calculations.
Sandown 3.00
The step up to a mile saw SOPRANO clock a career best at Royal Ascot and I still think she can improve further as she remains unexposed over this trip. She has really strengthened up now and looks like she is fulfilling the potential her trainer saw in her as a 2yo. This is obviously tougher stepping back into Listed company but I think she can pass the test with flying colours.
Clove Hitch hacked up at Newbury last month and looks the danger if improving on that but this is a great deal tougher.
Haydock 3.15
I’m keen to take a chance on MAGHLAAK bouncing back here. He fluffed his lines at Redcar last time but had excuses and his win over Qitaal at Goodwood on reappearance looks good form. I still think he has scope off this mark as he is unexposed over a mile and a half and in first-time blinkers may well spark back into life and at decent odds too.
La Yakel impressed winning at Doncaster and then backed that up going down just a couple of lengths into second at York. Given plenty of time he is open to improvement and can run well fresh so looks the danger despite a tricky draw. Iron Lion is quite a big price too if being smuggled into the race but he doesn’t have the assistance of Jamie Spencer.

Maghlaak 12/1 each way LONGSHOT
Main danger La Yakel and also watch out for Iron Lion at a big price
Sandown 3.35
Aidan O’Brien has won the Coral Eclipse twice in the last three years with St Mark’s Basilica (Evens) and Paddington (8/11) last year and he must have a great chance again in Derby winner CITY OF TROY. This colt by Justify looked so exciting going 3-3 as a 2yo and then put that Guineas flop behind him when bolting up in the Derby at Epsom last month. He was so impressive in the closing stages and despite cutting back to a mile and a quarter is impossible to oppose. The rain we’ve had will probably help him if anything and he should justify cramped odds.
Dancing Gemini ran a cracker going down narrowly to Metropolitan in France and despite only managing sixth behind the selection in the Derby might be the one to chase him home here. I think this trip will suit him better and I can see him running well. Ghostwriter is another one with potential and he should run well too.
