Punchestown 2.30

Wide open start to day 2 of the Punchestown Festival and I’ve taken a chance on PORTNACOO at a double-figure price. He impressed winning by 7 lengths at Carlisle when last seen and back with his old yard if he remains in that sort of form he should have an each way squeak.

Kap Vert is still just a 5yo so could have a bigger performance in him and if he has travelled over well he could emerge as one of the main dangers.

Punchestown 2.30

Portnacoo 14/1 each way

Main danger Kap Vert

Punchestown 3.05

I know Gavin Cromwell won this last year but I can’t help but think Champagne Jury is a little short. DOWNMEXICOWAY seems better value and gets the vote. He is better than e showed at Fairyhouse and back up in trip should have more to come so is a danger to all in this.

Kish Bank is quite a likeable horse and he did it well at Wexford last time. He is unexposed so if improving could be the biggest threat.

Punchestown 3.05

Downmexicoway 9/2 each way

Main danger Kish Bank

Punchestown 3.40

The money seems pretty relentless for GOT GLORY and she may well be capable of justyfing it. I know she has fallen the last twice but they are likely to have schooled her plenty since and if her jumping holds up stretching out in trip she could come good now.

At a huge each way price I’m definitely keen to include TRADECRAFT for Nicky Henderson. He impressed winning at Sandown and the form has worked out.

Punchestown 3.40

Got Glory 11/4

Tradecraft 20/1 each way

Main danger Kaid D’authie

Punchestown 4.15

It was good to see JASMIN DE VAUX finally put it all together to win the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham last month. He is open to further improvement again and may well be up to completing the double for Mullins and Townend.

Honesty Policy has won his last 3 over hurdles and impressed beating Regent’s Stroll at Aintree last time so definitely looks the danger.

Punchestown 4.15

Jasmin De Vaux 6/4 (best bet at Punchestown)

Main danger Honesty Policy

Punchestown 4.50

The yard won this last year with Redemption Day and it is hard to get away from Cheltenham winner and unbeaten mare BAMBINO FEVER here. She just travels so strongly and could still have more to come yet so good chance to extend the winning sequence.

Colcannon has won her last two for Noel Meade and could emerge as the danger. Kalypso’chance also has more to offer so is respected too.

Punchestown 4.50

Bambino Fever 6/4 (second best bet at Punchestown)

Main danger Colcannon

Punchestown 5.30

It wasn’t easy to oppose Galopin Des Champs but I’m not convinced Punchestown is his track and he has been beaten short prices in this for the last two years. The drying ground is a worry so I’m chancing SPILLANE’S TOWER who skipped Cheltenham and comes here a fresh horse.

Banbridge will love the ground and shouldn’t be underestimated either and Monty’s Star is no back number so a great race ahead.

Punchestown 5.30

Spillane’s Tower 11/4

Main danger Glopin Des Champs

Punchestown 6.05

This is probably the toughest race of the day but RIANN looks to have likeable claims from an each way perspective. He has run some very good races in tough handicaps including when sixth behind Jagwar at the Cheltenham Festival last month. I can see him being bang there at the finish.

Loads of dangers but Lightkeeper is probably feared most. He arrives on a hat-trick and is clearly thriving right now. Blue Lord is also noted.

Punchestown 6.05

Riann 13/2 each way

Main danger Lightkeeper

Punchestown 6.35

Hard to look past Order Of St George mare SEO LINN in the lucky last. She showed a good attitude to win at Aintree and just seems to be going from strength to strength right now. She is still unexposed having only had a handful of runs and I’m happy to keep her on side.

Future Prospect was turned over as favourite at Fairyhouse but shouldn’t be ignored and does look the one to give her most to think about.

Punchestown 6.35

Seo Linn 11/10

Main danger Future Prospect

Punchestown Boosted Treble

We’ve had another treble exclusively boosted by bet365 for Day 2 of the Punchestown Festival. Usually pays around 21/1 but it is now over 4 points bigger. Pays 25/1!

Punchestown Boosted Treble

Punchestown 4.15 Jasmin De Vaux

Punchestown 4.50 Bambino Fever

Punchestown 5.30 Spillane’s Tower
