Race 3 Gold Coast 3.42 New Universe (11/8)
Swept past the entire field to win over C&D last time and a lot to like about that so strong claims of following up turned out quickly; versatile regarding the ground too so won’t mind if it does come up soft.
The US NAP has fired in EIGHT winners in a row now and the Aussie NAP isn’t too far behind as we look to land our sixth in a row on Friday morning. NEW UNIVERSE is a standout in Race 3 at Gold Coast and this likeable 6yo should take plenty of beating having impressed over track and trip last time. He will be looking to pick them up late and with usual luck in running has to go close. Gresham is the biggest danger as he just got going too late last time so will look to make his move sooner.

Race 5 Sunshine Coast 10.15 Musicmaker (7/4)
Improving filly who just tracked the pace through before winning readily over this trip at Doomben last time; steps up in class now but clearly going the right way and looks to have a big chance of following up under Jake Bayliss; worth sticking with.
I’m looking forward to seeing MUSICMAKER out again. She impressed me winning well last time and with further progress on the cards looks a good bet to follow up. She has a big field to contend with here but should be on or near the pace and with further gains likely will be hard to hold in the closing stages. There’s a few dangers including Poetic Choice and Queen Of Emeralds. The latter won well here on penultimate start before getting caught wide throughout when only fifth last time. Should bounce back.
