Uttoxeter 2.20 Saint Dalina (11/10)
Smart mare who is unlucky not to be coming here chasing a four-timer after her rider lost an iron on reappearance at Leicester; quickly put that right winning impressively over C&D last time; escapes a penalty and hard to oppose.
It’s difficult to get away from SAINT DALINA here for Charlie Longsdon. She is a mare at the top of her game right now and she couldn’t really have been any more impressive last time. With further improvement on the cards she should be hard to stop here. She escapes a penalty for winning a conditional jockeys’ race last time and doesn’t have many weaknesses. Imperial Icon shaped with encouragement in novice hurdles and appreciated the step up in trip when winning at Hereford last time. He looks most likely to give the favourite a race. Little Jack looks best of the rest but I’ll be surprised if he has enough to trouble the front two with the selection looking a standout.

Southwell 12.55 Stone Soldier (11/10)
Mayson colt who ran out a very impressive winner over 7f here 10 days ago, relishing the surface; should be a cut above these under a penalty if turning up in the same form and one to keep firmly on side for now.
I was really impressed with STONE SOLDIER last time and with the step back up to a mile no issue given how strongly he stayed on he looks a great bet to follow up. He was a cut above the opposition last time and this is a bit tougher but I still don’t see anything in here good enough to challenge him. Jump The Gun has won here before but he was a disappointing third over C&D last time and needs to do much better than that to land a blow here. Shining Aitch chased home Cityzen Serges at Wolverhampton last time and that form entitles him to respect but again he’ll need more to win this and I’m not sure patient tactics are a good idea against a thriving horse in the favourite.
