Tuesday’s Best Bets
ANOTHER QUIET DAY! Just the 2 meetings on Tuesday as expected with Down Royal losing out to the weather again. The track is frozen in places and unraceable. Action from Southwell and Wolverhampton (both on the AW).
Scroll down to find our most confident selections (NAP & NB) PLUS race-by-race picks for every race across BOTH meetings.
NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) NOW RUNS AT SOUTHWELL ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON!
Southwell 1.25 King Of Stars (2/1)
Likeable type who put in a career best over C&D 19 days ago, travelling strongly on the front end before being pushed clear; 6lb rise makes life tougher but clearly thriving so no surprise to see him follow up.
This looks a good opportunity for KING OF STARS to win again. This son of Starspangledbanner impressed last time defying odds of 12/1 and 6lb higher with potential for a lead on the cards again he could follow up. Mulzim was a 3-time C&D winner last year and he wasn’t disgraced when fourth last time. It was reported that he bled so that would be slightly concerning but if he is on a going day he could easily give the selection a race. Thegreatestshowman is in good form and was third to the selection last time so should also be in the mix. Giogiobbo hasn’t been running badly either but may be vulnerable for win purposes so is opposed.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) NOW RUNS AT WOLVERHAMPTON ON TUESDAY!
Wolverhampton 6.40 Majestic Tejaan (5/2)
Promising filly who made a winning start at Newcastle, well on top at the finish; failed to handle Fibresand next start when slowly away; back to form when beaten just a neck last time; unexposed and more to come so sure to go close.
With Nortonthorpe Boy now a non runner (our original NAP) I’m keen to side with MAJESTIC TEJAAN here. Richard Fahey’s filly has had just three starts to date and she has shown a great deal of promise on two of those, winning one. She almost certainly has more to come and while she lacks the experience of a few here she looks to have the most potential and could easily return to winning ways. She had the second fav Fayathaan behind when second last time and is taken to confirm that form. At a bigger price it wouldn’t surprise me if Donny Marlow raised his game. He wasn’t beaten far on handicap debut and like the selection remains open to improvement.
Daily Double
The Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the day to maximise profit. They run at Southwell and Wolverhampton on Tuesday.
