Wolverhampton 5.10 My Girl Maggie (11/10)
Camelot filly who ran a cracker when denied her hat-trick back down in trip here last week; 1lb lower now and step back up in trip likely to suit; will race prominently and should prove hard to reel in.
I’ve got to be with the thriving MY GIRL MAGGIE here for Mark Johnston. I thought she ran a big race in defeat here last week and if she repeats that sort of performance back up in trip she will be tough to beat here under Richard Kingscote. There isn’t a great deal of pace on so she should push forward and it wouldn’t surprise me if she tried to make all. Combine is the closest in the betting and she is probably the biggest danger as she wasn’t beaten far at Lingfield having overraced before making good late gains. She might be finishing best but the selection could already be home and hosed. Sharp Suited makes his handicap debut now and also has to be respected but he’ll need to step forward plenty.

Dundalk 6.25 Sabrina Fairchild (13/8)
Likeable mare who produced a career best to follow up over C&D beating 15 rivals last week; turned out quickly under a 6lb penalty but clearly thriving and looks to have a very good chance of landing the hat-trick.
The NB has been struggling lately so hopefully we can start February with a winner. We head to Ireland on Monday and SABRINA FAIRCHILD should go close. She has won her last two and did it with a bit to spare last time. As long as this doesn’t come too soon I think she’ll go in again as a 6lb penalty shouldn’t be enough to anchor her. Slade Runner also won over C&D 12 days ago and looks the biggest danger to the selection as he is lightly raced so should build on that. Sunset Nova is a tricky sort but ran well again when third last time as that was a fiercely competitive handicap. Looks good value to run into the frame. Jered Maddox is also worth respecting but he does need to improve.
