Race 5 Muswellbrook 4.40 Water Dove (7/4)

Half-sister to Queen Of Wands and did well to get as close as she did last time having began awkwardly, running on strongly from midfield; peak fitness now and with improvement to come should be hard to beat here.

The Aussie NAP was backed off the boards overnight as expected and got the job done. We have now landed 3 winners from our last 4 and will be hoping for another one on Friday. We head to Muswellbrook where WATER DOVE looks the one to be on. She’s done nothing wrong in four starts to date and can make it 3 wins here. She is bred to be useful and ran a cracker last time denied just a length at the line. With a cleaner start and added fitness on side she looks hard to oppose. Celestial Doll is the obvious danger as her form from last campaign looks very solid. I’d advise covering the reverse forecast for insurance. Delexo has had just 2 starts but has looked a horse with ability, he’s best of the rest.

Race 5 Cranbourne 9.30 Queen Of Rocks (5/2)

Good looking filly who caught the eye back from 5 months off the track when caught wide before finishing third at Pakenham earlier this month; sure to improve and won second up before so plenty going for her here.

A big field here but I still think QUEEN OF ROCKS is going to take a lot of beating. She was highly tried last term so connections clearly think a lot of her. Plenty went against her on return but she ran on well for third and with that under her belt I’m expecting her to step forward a chunk here. She is easily the most likely winner of this for me and 5/2 at the time of writing looks generous. Gina Lola is exposed in comparison but she is running to a consistent level and has to be feared again. Almighty Will has won 2 of his last 3 and also comes into the reckoning but I just think the fav has the most potential going forward. Best Episode was crowded and lame last time so that might be worth forgiving.
