NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 7 AT SUNSHINE COAST ON SUNDAY!
Race 7 Sunshine Coast 8.00 Deep Sceiva (10/11)
Likeable filly who has won 2 of her last 3 and impressed last time, dictating throughout and always finding more; drawn wide but early speed should see her on the lead and she’ll take a lot of catching again.
This looks a great chance on paper for DEEP SCEIVA to go in again. She is looking to make it 3 from her last 4 and even with a wide draw she is comfortably the most likely winner for me. She will push forward and grab the lead and as long as she doesn’t have to work too hard to do so she won’t be caught. Her form is a cut above these and I think she should be even shorter than she is in the betting. Cairndow was slowly away and wide last time so that’s probably best forgiven. He is the danger if bouncing back but just 2 wins from 22 starts probably tells the story. Consular often finds a few too good but can also run his race. Not too many dangers in a race clearly lacking strength in depth.

Race 5 Sale 4.40 Cranc (13/8)
Improved to make it 2-2 at Hamilton last time, keeping on well to gradually assert in the closing stages; clearly learning on the job so with more to come looks a good bet to remain unbeaten before going onto better things.
He’ll probably need to take another step forward but CRANC is hard to get away from as he bids to make it a perfect 3-3. He was just going through the gears last time and with more to come should see this bunch off. Wide Awake has just 1 win from 8 starts but does look a useful filly in the making. She was awkward away last time and held up so actually ran well considering. If she backs that up she looks the main danger to the favourite. Like the selection Breasley is unexposed and looks worth forgiving his last run where he was down the field. If he bounces back he shouldn’t be far away either but if the selection improves again he will be playing catch-up. Hard to recommend much else in here.
