NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 3 AT PAKENHAM ON THURSDAY!
Race 3 Pakenham 10.00 Skywolf (6/4)
Good looking sort who is very promising; shaped well on debut when third at Echuca, just racing too keenly early but beaten less than 2 lengths; slowly away on final start when fourth at Rosehill; can do better now.
I’m expecting a big run from SKYWOLF here. This likeable chestnut has a bright future ahead judging by his two runs to date and if he is fit enough on return I expect him to have too much for main market rival Bellicosity. The latter has potential himself but he has proved a bit frustrating so far. I expect him to give the selection a race but the fav could be very smart if putting it altogether and he is one I want to keep firmly on side. The front pair look a cut above the rest with Snipastar probably the best of them. She has shown ability in two starts to date and can take another step forward to finish third here. Angerstein at least has fitness on side but he needs to improve a fair bit to get involved at the business end here. Nothing at the bigger prices make much appeal.

Race 7 Wangaratta 7.30 The Stager (13/8)
Likeable type who failed to handle the rain softened ground when running below par last time; much better than that and previous form progressive so good chance to make amens here and get back on an upward curve.
I think it’s hard to look past THE STAGER here. If you take away that last run where there were valid excuses he is thoroughly progressive and with another step forward he will be too good for these. He is expected to keep improving and he’s one I want to keep safe for now at least. If conditions deteriorate then it will make it a much tougher ask so watch the weather. Ultimate Edition is better than what he’s been showing lately and looks one of the dangers. Hellova Night also catches the eye but the fav should have him covered if running his race. If the rain comes it will bring them closer together. Commando Miss is consistent and she shouldn’t be far away but probably a place at best.

The Australian Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the night to maximise profit. They run at Wangaratta and Pakenham in the early hours of Thursday morning.
