Ascot 3.55 Haqeeqy (6/4)
Progressive son of Lope De Vega who stormed home to win the Lincoln on return last month; his turn of foot would get most horses in trouble; more to come and should have too much for these at the business end of the race.
With 4 wins from his last 5 HAQEEQY is improving fast and while this will demand more now entering Listed level I think he’s potentially a Group horse in the making so I expect him to win this and win it well. He quickened up like a very good horse to win the Lincoln and barely would have known he had a race. With more to come he is one to keep firmly on side. Sir Busker was a big improver last year winning the Silver Hunt Cup over C&D before finishing fourth in the QEII on final start. This is obviously easier so he has to be feared down in grade. Marie’s Diamond was second to My Oberon at Newmarket on return and that was a fair effort so he is also worth respecting. Hard to get away from the fav.

Wolverhampton 4.35 Marta Boy (13/8)
Likeable sort who put in a career best to win at Lingfield last time; won 2 of his last 4 now and if he’s in the same form turned out quickly under a penalty he is going to take a lot of beating; step back up in trip a plus.
Given MARTA BOY is the only horse in the field bringing winning form to the table I think he’s going to take a lot of beating. He put in his best run to date last time and with the promise of more to come if he’s in the same form he should be too good for these back up to 6f. Bated Breath gelding Admirable Lad wasn’t disgraced last time and has the ability to pose some sort of a challenge to the selection. She’s A Deva shaped better than the bare result last time and also has to be respected back up in trip. Hard to see anything else getting involved though in a race that does look to lack strength in depth. Time Has Wings is entitled to strip fitter and has blinkers on now but has enough to find.
