Race 4 Ascot 7.24 Timely Outburst (10/11)

Promising filly who created a big impression winning as she liked on debut at Pinjarra; backed that up with a convincing win over track and trip last month beating a good yardstick; sure to keep improving and one to keep safe.

Apple Schnapps runs in the race before and went into our Notebook after finishing second to TIMELY OUTBURST last time. If that horse wins then expect this filly to go off even shorter than she is already. She made it 2-2 over track and trip last time and looks to be hugely promising to my eye. She has scope to keep improving and she should take this before going on to better things in time. This will test her credentials though as Material Witness has two wins to his name already as well and looks useful. I expect the pair to battle it out with the selection looking to have the greater potential. Schoolhouse Rock brings winning form but hasn’t been seen for 7 months so might come on for it.

Race 7 Pakenham 6.55 Kurabui (1/1)

Smart mare in the making having made a winning start over this C&D before following up at Caulfield in a good race over the winter; form stacks up and this looks a good starting point for her on return.

We head to Pakenham overnight for our second best bet Down Under and KURABUI can make it a perfect 3-3. That win at Caulfield when last seen was very good and with the form well advertised since she looks the one to beat in this field. With natural improvement she should be hard to beat. Lady D’Oro has 3 wins to her name so has to be taken seriously but she is exposed in comparison to the selection so is going to need to find more from somewhere to get the better of the argument. Make Mine Hennessy is consistent and looks solid for a place bet but on what we’ve seen it’s hard to see her troubling the principals. Vitani is a big price but it’s going to require a career best.
