Ripon 4.35 Fiftyshadesofred (11/10)
Promising colt who left debut run miles behind when beaten just half a length into second at Yarmouth on return; winner potentially smart; more to come up in trip and looks a nice horse in the making.
I was really taken with FIFTYSHADESOFRED last time as he pushed a promising horse in Moorbik all the way to the line and he probably made his effort sooner than ideal also having to come wide. With that under his belt he can only improve further and get off the mark here. That’s being reflected in the market as he is being well punted. Zoom Tiger is also going the right way and ran well when third at Newmarket. With the yard going well he looks to be the main danger to the selection. First Light is by Dubawi though and is also open to improvement so shouldn’t be ruled out either. Off the back of that last run though the favourite is going to take all the beating.

Stratford 2.17 Drakes Well (13/8)
Lightly raced sort who ran a cracker when second to a nice horse at Uttoxeter last time; form of that franked already with the third winning yesterday; obvious chance of going one better with added fitness under his belt.
Back over hurdles dropped into a maiden DRAKES WELL should take all the beating. He was only edged out late on last time and under similar positive tactics here I don’t think he’ll be caught in this company. The form of that last run has been franked since so he looks the most likely winner and that’s being reflected in the betting. Ultimate Getaway hasn’t been seen since September last year so while he probably still has potential he has enough to prove on return. Barrowmount is bred to be suited by this trip over timber and shouldn’t be ruled out either but the fav sets a good standard and might always be dominating these off the front end. Rumble B has enough to find as do the others.
