NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS ON THE FLAT AT BRIGHTON ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON!
Brighton 2.45 Lankaran (4/5)
Promising colt who shaped with plenty of encouragement when third on debut and quickly stepped forward to make the breakthrough at Wolverhampton last time; only going to improve and with the yard firing there is lots to like.
Two last time out winners go head to head here in Deny Knowledge and LANKARAN and it’s the latter that is readily preferred. Roger Varian is operating at a 30% strike rate in the past fortnight and he could have another smart colt on his hands here. The form of that Wolverhampton run looks solid albeit the second failed to give his running yesterday but with the promise of more to come he is taken to defy a penalty here. Deny Knowledge is feared but that form where she beat Cleveleys at Redcar was let down yesterday when that horse suffered a heavy defeat at Carlisle. She can do better granted but might always be playing second fiddle against a promising sort. Jewel In My Crown is best of the rest.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS OVER JUMPS AT HUNTINGDON TONIGHT!
Huntingdon 7.25 Coeur Serein (13/8)
Stayed on strongly up in trip to make the breakthrough emphatically at Warwick on return; improved again and impressed with how he asserted from a good yardstick at Newbury; 12lb hike but more to come as his stamina is drawn out.
I was really taken with COEUR SEREIN last time and I’m keen to be with him as he bids to land a hat-trick. The horse he beat went on to win his next start impressively so I think it’s good form and a 12lb rise is probably warranted given how much he has to offer especially going up in trip again. He has a likeable way of finding more when needed and the cheekpieces should help him concentrate. He is lightly raced and looks progressive so one to keep firmly on side. Good Boy Bobby has some solid form in the book but he has a habit of finding one or two too good and that could be the case again here despite going up in trip. Stoney Mountain suffered a cut at Ludlow but didn’t show much at Aintree.
