Race 5 Taree 6.15 Excelness (11/10)
Promising filly who impressed when making the breakthrough at Scone last month; only edged out late having tried to make all at Quirindi last time; looks well placed with the claim and likely to push forward and dominate.
Aussie tips are back and we have a confident NAP running at Taree on Monday morning. EXCELNESS has looked a filly with considerable potential in just 4 starts to date winning once and placing on the three other occasions. With Dominant Lady now scratched this looks a great opportunity for her to get back in the winners enclosure. The claim comes in useful and from a low draw she will be quick away and might always have matters under control. Chelsea Magic is a good looking type and she won well here last time. Looks the danger off the back of that but she will need to find more to trouble the favourite who looks poised to strike. Swordsman is a bit exposed but still best of the rest.

Race 2 Albury 4.40 Smuggler’s Bay (6/5)
Made a perfect start winning on debut at Wagga earlier this month; sure to improve off the back of that and while this is tougher he looks to have a bright future so good chance of making it 2-2; hard to oppose.
Quite a big field head to post for this but not a great deal of strength in depth and SMUGGLER’S BAY can remain unbeaten. He won on debut and with usual improvement I think it’s going to take a good one to stop him going in again. This trip looked to suit him well and he has plenty in favour again. Native Leaf returned from five months off the track to win at Wodonga and that form makes him the main danger to the selection. Miss Elsie May has just 1 win to her name from 15 starts so the two mentioned should improve past her but she is probably best of the rest and can hit the frame. Redneck Princess has been consistent but needs more and Kokomo Bliss was disappointing when last seen.
