Race 5 Grafton 5.49 Lasting Kiss (5/4)

Improving filly who was denied just half a length on first start for 5 months; sure to strip fitter now and looks to have plenty going for her as she bids to make it 2 wins from 5 starts; potential to be a cut above these.

A big field for this but not a lot of strength in depth so it looks a good opportunity for the likeable LASTING KISS to get back in the winners enclosure. She has form figures of 2122 now so is a model of consistency and is capable of better. She was probably given a bit too much to do in hindsight on return but it was still a very good effort and if she builds on that she should be tough to beat here. Jubai Pride has 2 wins from 10 starts and has been running well so looks one of the main dangers. Belle Of Clonmel is pretty exposed now but can go well without being dangerous. At the bigger prices Mon Gypsy might be a bit of value to hit the frame as she is still lightly raced so could improve.

Race 6 Belmont 8.38 Dark Lass (15/8)

Promising filly who ran on strongly from off the pace to score by a nose at Pinjarra last month; getting better as she gains experience so no surprise to see her take another step forward here; looks the most likely winner.

With plenty of rain about conditions should prove ideal for DARK LASS again. She impressed last time finishing best of all and with more to come she is a confident selection to follow up. Even her form in defeat prior to that win stacks up so there is lots to like in my book. Dad’s Bigheaded is building a nice profile but can be keen so he will need to settle to try and trouble this favourite. Chaluke has only had 3 starts so lacks experience but already has a win to his name so has to be feared. Olden made the breakthrough when last seen but it took him 13 attempts so while he could build on that I think he’ll be left vulnerable. The selection looks to have the most potential in the field.
