Race 5 Belmont 8.35 Irritable Rodnee (7/4)
Promising type who returned from 6 months off the track to win impressively at Pinjarra last time; only going to improve from that and looks well placed to follow up; progressive look to his form now so keep safe.
The Aussie NAP landed again overnight so we’re now going for three in a row! We head to Belmont and IRRITABLE RODNEE should prove a cut above this field. He did it in good style last time just stalking them through before pouncing. This isn’t much tougher and if he progresses again then he will win. Holy Ghost has just 1 win from 22 starts and will be finishing strongly but he needs more to beat this thriving favourite. Oxbridge might emerge as a greater danger as he has 3 wins on the board already and remains open to further improvement but the trip is a bit of a worry as he is now 0/5. Mims Win best of the rest but I’ll be surprised if he proves good enough and nothing else appeals.

Race 2 Eagle Farm 5.18 Mccovey Cove (7/4)
Good looking sort who hasn’t had much luck lately and previous form stacks up so good reason to think he can bounce back here and return to the winners enclosure; obvious shout and sure to go well; big chance.
We head to Eagle Farm for our second best bet Down Under and MCCOVEY COVE can make it 3 wins from 8 starts. He was hampered last time and lost a plate so you can put a line through that. Prior to that he ran well when third and he won’t need to find much more improvement to win a race like this. It’s no surprise to see him figure prominently in the betting. Montez is more exposed but does bring winning form to the table so might be the threat. Rebel Rock is also very solid in regards to a place but I think he’ll struggle to contain this favourite. Three Stripes needs to do more and I’ll be surprised if anything else proves good enough including Scathing who needs to leave his last two runs behind.
