NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) NEEDS A WINNER AND RUNS AT DONCASTER ON WEDNESDAY!
Doncaster 4.30 Faisal (6/4)
Promising colt who did lots wrong but still managed to make it a perfect 3-3 at Windsor when last seen; should settle better here as they’ll go a truer gallop and a 3lb rise is unlikely to stop him; one to keep firmly on side.
The NAP is on a tough run at the moment so hopefully we can put that right on Wednesday as we head to Doncaster for our best bet. Golden Horn colt FAISAL remains unbeaten and with further improvement to come he gets a confident vote to make it 4-4 here. He did so much wrong at Windsor but still proved too good. If he drops his head which he should as they will go a good gallop here he will see out his race stronger. The obvious danger is the only other last time out winner in the field Anmaat. He is a nice horse too but he’s gone up 8lb now and is bumping into a progressive colt. I expect the pair to dominate and beat the rest comfortably.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT WOLVERHAMPTON ON WEDNESDAY!
Wolverhampton 8.20 Colinton (13/8)
Left previous form behind landing a bit of a gamble over shorter here in July and relished the extra yardage when up to 1m2f here last month, showing a good attitude under pressure; up 6lb but more to come yet so leading claims.
The hat-trick looks to be on the cards for COLINTON here. Rebecca Menzies 3yo has been progressing nicely in recent times and the form of that last win has been franked since with the third Wadacre Gogo winning her next two starts in the style of a nice filly. She is up 6lb but I don’t think she’s done improving yet and this looks a good chance for her to bring up the hat-trick. It’s early days for Aradena but she failed to build on a promising run at Bath when down the field at Yarmouth last time. She might just need more time to be seen to best effect. Dubawi colt Renbawi shaped well at Bath and Musselburgh before disappointing at Ripon. He is also one to note if bouncing back.
