THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) WON OVERNIGHT AND RUNS AT RANDWICK ON SATURDAY!

Race 5 Royal Randwick 4.55 Paulele (11/8)

Smart colt who has already won 4 times and wide gate probably cost him at Rosehill last time but still ran a big race; form is right up there and has potential to do better again so big chance of getting his head back in front here; keep safe.

I know PAULELE let us down last time but in hindsight he has run another big race in defeat and I think he’ll get back on track at Randwick on Saturday. He is a promising colt who can still do better. He goes back up in trip now and is 1-1 over it and with 3 visits to this track he has 3 wins so there is plenty to like. I don’t see anything good enough to beat him in here so 11/8 looks good value to me. Sword Of State is 4 wins from 6 starts so has to be feared but he finished nearer last than first at Rosehill and has a bit to prove off the back of that which tilts the balance firmly towards the selection. Gleneagles is 2 wins from 7 and probably just lacks the class of the front pair but could run well too.

Race 8 Caulfield 6.30 Anamoe (7/4)

Good looking colt who has a progressive look to his form and did well to get as close as he did after a slow start last time; more to come yet and fitter again so rates the one to beat in this field; sure to go well if things fall his way.

We head to Caulfield for our second best bet Down Under on Saturday and ANAMOE can take out the Caulfield Guineas. This colt is going the right way and his form looks very solid. He was only denied narrowly last time and if he builds on that then he should have too much for these. Hopefully he’ll get a better break and will have a better sit early as he just had a mountain to climb last time. He has the class to win this so if things drop right he should get the job done. Artorius has just 2 wins from 7 starts but doesn’t lack potential. Needs to break better but definitely looks the danger to the favourite. At a bigger price it wouldn’t surprise me if Lightsaber hit the frame – looks quite good value.
