NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) WON YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT ASCOT ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON!
Ascot 3.10 Palace Pier (2/1)
High-class colt who has only lost once in 10 starts, that coming in this race a year ago when the ground was too soft; won all four starts since including three Group 1’s so proven himself as one of the best miles around; should win.
This looks a really good renewal with two of the best milers in training locking horns PALACE PIER and Baaeed. For all the potential the latter brings to the table I’ve got to be with the proven quality of the selection. He has won all four starts this season including three Group 1’s. He has the form in the book beating Poetic Flare in France last time and it’s going to take a very good one to beat him. Baaeed obviously has the potential to go right to the top and is a perfect 5 from 5 himself. He wasn’t as spectacular in France last time though and that form has taken a few knocks since which is concerning. He has enough to find with the fav for me for all it should be a great race.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) ALSO RUNS AT ASCOT ON CHAMPIONS DAY!
Ascot 3.50 Adayar (9/4)
Big colt who showed what he was capable of powering clear to win The Derby in June; backed that up proving too good for Mishriff in the King George and just went off too hard in the Arc; hard to beat as long as this doesn’t come too soon.
I can’t wait for the rematch between ADAYAR and Mishriff. I know this shorter trip is likely to suit the latter but I still think the selection has more to offer and as long as those Arc excursions haven’t taken too much out of him he can resume his progression here. For me he is still one of the most promising horses in training and this would cap off a fine season where he has already tasted success in The Derby and the King George. If he produces his best here it should be enough to win. Mishriff is obviously a huge danger as he improved from that King George second to win the Juddmonte impressively at York last time. Another run like that has him bang there. Addeybb best of the rest but needs rain.
