THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 3 AT LAUNCESTON ON WEDNESDAY!

Race 3 Launceston 8.20 Summer Fire (6/5)

Promising filly who ran on well from off the pace to win easily on penultimate start and went down less than a length last time in a better race than this having got caught wide; more to come and should be too strong here.

Given SUMMER FIRE had excuses last time I’m keen to chance her bouncing back here. She was caught wide and without cover last time when the rail was the place to be. She only went down less than a length and is clearing progressive. She has the box seat here and should go through the gears readily so hard to get away from. Laylow Pluck made the breakthrough here last time and has to be respected. Should be the danger if building on that again. A stablemate to the latter Lake Bled also won last time so could run a place. Far Away Hit made a winning start at Hobart but didn’t really back that up here last time so will need to bounce back to get seriously competitive here.

Race 9 Belmont 9.10 Go Forward (6/4)

Ran out an impressive winner of a good race at Ascot before doing well to get as close as he did last time from an awkward draw; open to further improvement and gets weight relief here from a better draw; big chance.

With the likes of Boyish and Requisition setting a good pace here GO FORWARD should be able to settle a bit more prominently and back slightly in trip he will be hoping to fly past them late. He ran as well as could have hoped last time after being taken back and definitely ticks plenty of boxes coming into this. Eeyore Wayz has gone off the boil somewhat but looked a nice prospect early and if bouncing back would be a danger. Requisition has won 6 from 41 starts so is exposed in comparison to the favourite but could also run well. Agent Kensington is a mare I like so she might be the value to hit the frame but she will need to leave that Ascot run well behind where she finished last.
