Race 9 Doomben 7.10 Zoustyle (5/4)

Smart horse who has won 8 from 12 and comes here chasing a hat-trick after winning impressively again at Sunshine Coast last month; 3 from 5 over this trip and unbeaten at this track so looks one to keep firmly on side.

How can you oppose ZOUSTYLE here? This 6yo is a perfect 5 from 5 at this track and with 8 wins from 12 starts overall he looks the one they all have to beat. Baller is a very decent yardstick and he looks the one to chase the favourite home. Shooting For Gold is also respected but he was held by the selection last time and has a bit to find on that run. There is strength in depth here and Alligator Blood might be the value to run into a place. This should throw up plenty of future winners. Even Simply Fly is one I can see running well but 0/3 at this track so enough to put me off in terms of a place on this occasions. Hopefully the fav makes it a perfect 6-6 at this track.

Race 5 Gold Coast 4.49 Never Paid (2/1)

Likeable type who has won 3 of his last 4 and comes here chasing a hat-trick; 2-2 at this track and impressed again at Ipswich showing a good attitude to prevail; remains capable of better and looks the one to beat again here.

Hard to look past NEVER PAID who is a perfect 2-2 at this track. He is improving all the time and dropping a little in the weights here he should win this and win it well. Global Citizen is also 3 from 6 but finished last at Doomben last time so has a bit to prove off the back of that. Rubyexpress has only won 2 but has placed 4 times as well from just 8 starts so is a fair yardstick. This is quite a good race but the selection looks to have plenty going for him and that perfect track record speaks volumes against some of these. He won’t be far away from the lead and hopefully just stalks them before finishing best of all. Mort Doyle is returning but should come on for the run but is worth keeping an eye on.
