NAP – Best selection of the evening
Taunton 12.45 Graystone (7/4)
Likeable type who won 3 times on the Flat and opened his account over hurdles in good style at Warwick last time, staying on strongly; can jump better so should keep improving with experience and looks the one to beat.
With just the 3 meetings on Thursday not a great deal stands out but GRAYSTONE should take a bit of beating at Taunton for Lucy Wadham. He stayed on strongly to win by 7 lengths under Bryony Frost at Warwick earlier this month and with the promise of more to come he looks to have found a good opportunity to follow up. The interesting one in opposition is Irish Hill on debut for Paul Nicholls but he lacks experience. I can see him shaping well but he may well come on for it and might always be playing second fiddle to the favourite. Brainstorm won a claiming hurdle in France but was pulled up on debut for this yard at Auteuil when last seen 5 months later so has enough to prove at present.

Wolverhampton 4.00 Who Cares Wins (2/1)
Improving filly who shaped with a great deal of encouragement on return when third at Lingfield last month; stepped forward when beaten just half a length last time; with a smoother passage through she should win.
This handicap looks to lack strength in depth so I’m keeping it simple with putting WHO CARES WINS forward. This filly ran a cracker when only denied narrowly at Lingfield last time and if she builds on that again she will take a lot of beating here. She got briefly held up in traffic so I think that run can be upgraded. She will be fitter again and I’ll be surprised if she doesn’t turn out to be better than her current mark of just 64. Billy Roberts won over C&D last time but a 5lb rise asks a lot more and while he is respected I’ll be surprised if he can follow up. Allowed is unexposed and might improve to be the danger given she is bred to be pretty useful being by Al Kazeem. County Wicklow also respected.
