THE AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 9 AT SUNSHINE COAST ON WEDNESDAY!

Race 9 Sunshine Coast 7.38 Better Get Set (11/8)

Tough and consistent mare who caught the eye back from 7 months off finishing a very good third here at the start of the month; form looks solid and with usual improvement from that should take a bit of beating here.

This race is cutting up all the time with 6 non runners already at the time of writing. I think it looks a great opportunity for BETTER GET SET to get herself back in the winners enclosure. She was a promising third on reappearance and with natural improvement from that first start for 7 months she should take a bit of stopping here. She already has 3 wins and 7 placed efforts to her name from 16 starts so is building a nice profile now. The Big Goodbye is the obvious danger as he was a good second at Eagle Farm last time. His collateral form ties in with the favourite so I expect them to battle this one out with ready preference for the selection who looks poised to strike. Magic Fox best of the rest.

Race 8 Kensington 7.20 Deep Finesse (6/4)

Good looking chestnut colt who ran a really nice race when third on debut at Canberra and duly improved from that to make the breakthrough impressively at Warwick Farm last month; hard to beat with further progress now.

Great chance for the improving DEEP FINESSE to make it 2 wins from 3 starts. He slammed them at Warwick Farm last time and looks a colt firmly on the upgrade now. I don’t see a great deal of strength in depth in this field so it should be a good chance to salute the judge again. Sepoy Star has a similar profile to the selection but she won on debut and then was held last time. She has more to offer so should put up the most resistance at the business end. Washington Towers is exposed in comparison to the two mentioned above but certainly shouldn’t be overlooked as he has 7 wins to his name including over this trip. Sur La Mer still has potential and is another one to consider.
