Race 8 Belmont 9.15 God Has Chosen (5/6)

Exciting sort with 8 wins from 12 starts now and 2-2 at this track showing a good attitude to prevail last month; further improvement to come yet and very much the one to beat in this field; definitely worth keeping safe.

The progressive GOD HAS CHOSEN handled the step up in grade last time and he is hard to oppose again. He is improving all the time and is building a really nice profile now with 8 wins from 12 starts. He is a perfect 1-1 over track and trip and 2-2 at this course so what’s not to like? He is 5/6 at the time of writing but I expect those odds to only contract further. Massimo ran well when third behind the selection last time and may well end up being the one to chase him home again. Laverrod is exposed in comparison and was fourth in that race last time so has ground to make up. Notorious One has gone off the boil but if he can rediscover some of his old form he might be best of the rest.

Race 1 Morphettville 3.02 Starts With Hello (5/4)

Likeable type who caught the eye going down narrowly on debut but quickly improved from that to win convincingly at Murray Bridge last month; getting better with experience and good chance to double up here.

The step up in trip looked to be the making of STARTS WITH HELLO last time and now he has his head in front he can really kick on. He looks to have the most potential in this field and it will be disappointing if he can’t justify favouritism again. Lumber Punk won at Pakenham last time but needs more on that form to overhaul this favourite. Still respected but might always be playing second best. Il Don Cavallo blew out last time but it’s still early days so if bouncing back he might not be far away. He is a good looking sort who looks to have a bright future so don’t entirely discount despite that lesser effort last time. The rest all look to be up against it on what we’ve seen so far.
