ANOTHER BUSY DAY DOWN UNDER! Racing on Sunday from Australia at Sunshine Coast, Devonport, Sale, Dubbo, Mount Gambier, Coffs Harbour and Donald. Overnight Double pays 3/1!

MY AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 7 AT MOUNT GAMBIER ON SUNDAY!

Race 7 Mount Gambier 7.42 Atomic Gold (10/11)

Improving type who looked good winning at Warrnambool last month; definitely open to further progress now and looks well placed to go and follow up against this field; comfortably the most likely winner.

The one to beat here is definitely ATOMIC GOLD and I can only see his odds contracting near post time. He was impressive last time and a repeat of that would see him follow up here. Battlecruiser also comes here with confidence high having won at Coleraine last time and looks the most obvious threat but he is a little more exposed than the selection. Unlimited Ability is an 8yo now but has 6 wins to his name so is best of the rest but it will be disappointing if he manages to get the better of the pair at the head of the market who clearly have the most potential. Jay Gatsby ran better at Sandown last time than he did at Mildura but still is going to need more to spring an upset here.

Race 1 Sunshine Coast 3.16 Hillcrest Avenue (11/10)

Good looking grey who ran well when third on debut at Listowel and made an encouraging start Down Under to finish third at Gold Coast last month; sure to keep improving and looks well placed here.

No surprise to see HILLCREST AVENUE at the top of the betting for this as he is the most likely winner for me following that encouraging third at Gold Coast. He will keep progressing with experience and that form looks rock solid too. Bold Enforcer remains a maiden after 5 attempts but went close here last time so if building on that again likely won’t be far away here. Bonloe is 0/8 and while she is a mare that has threatened to do better she hasn’t yet and I’m struggling to be too positive about her chances. Nina Artie might hit the frame as he has only had the 3 runs and ran well when second at Toowoomba last month so if improving on that may well be in the mix in a weak race.
