Race 4 Rosehill 4.40 Cadre Du Noir (1/1)
Progressive sort who comes here chasing a hat-trick after winning impressively again at Randwick last time; 3 from 5 over the trip now and looks a horse to keep firmly on side; take all the beating once more.
My Australian tips are back on Saturday and it’s a good days racing ahead. CADRE DU NOIR is flying right now and can go in again over this trip and bring up the hat-trick. He will go forward and be hard to pass late. Herman Hesse won here last time and looks the danger if in that sort of form again. Mohican Heights was a good second to High Emocean at Flemington and would also have to be respected if matching that form here. Grove Ferry is 4 from 20 overall and would need this distance to bring about further improvement to get involved. Fun Fact is likeable but is 0/8 at this track now and also 0/6 over the trip so enough negatives to pick holes. Monreal also out of his depth here.

Race 8 Belmont 9.44 Western Knight (11/10)
Improving type who won at Northam and then has gone down narrowly the last twice; missed by just a head last time and with further progress has a big chance; extra yardage looks an obious plus as well.
Hard to look past WESTERN KNIGHT at Belmont on Saturday morning. He is still progressing despite defeat the last twice and stepping up in trip again I think we’ll see further improvement now. Castillo Del Lago was third last time and is probably the danger but is more exposed and lacks the potential of the favourite. Ginger Baker is 3 from 21 overall but is 0/6 at the trip and just 1/7 at the track so a bit to prove on the balance. Indominus has knocked on the door the last twice but still will need more to seriously challenge the selection. Marlize is a good looking mare who won on penultimate start but wasn’t in the same form last time and would need to be at her very best to feature.
