NAP – My best tip of the day
Stratford 3.54 Progressive (best price 11/10)
Made all the running to win impressively at Warwick last month; ground and trip both in favour again and a 6lb rise looks lenient if anything; should be hard to beat under positive tactics once more.
I was with PROGRESSIVE at Warwick last month and I see no reason to abandon her here. She made all that day and kept going up through the gears to eventually win by 16 lengths at the line. She has only been hit by a 6lb rise and if she is in the same form here she will take a lot of beating again under Nico de Boinville. She readily asserted when asked last time and if she repeats that it should suffice. Lady Jane P lacks experience over hurdles but shaped with promise when second at Newton Abbot last month and will be the danger if building on that. Aliomaana looked good winning at Wincanton back in March but hasn’t kicked on since and comes here with enough to prove at present.

Wolverhampton 7.30 Sonnerie Power (best price 6/5)
Good looking sort who quickened impressively to win easily at Lingfield last month, proving his opening mark to be lenient; 10lb rise but can improve again so can remain in front of the assessor for now.
The way SONNERIE POWER won at Lingfield on handicap debut even hit with a 10lb rise he should take all the beating at Wolverhampton on Saturday night. He quickened up smartly and was much too good for them. This is a much better quality of race but he is obviously armed with plenty of potential and I expect him to justify favouritism. White Moonlight won her first two starts as a 2yo and didn’t shape badly following a mammoth absence when third at Chelmsford but disappointed at Royal Ascot. She has headgear on now and likely can still do better but should come on for the run. Satono Japan is on a bit of a losing run and while he is respected he will need to leave that Pontefract run behind.
