NAP – My best tip of the day
Pontefract 2.35 Vino Victrix (best price 11/8)
Travelled like a dream at Goodwood before coming through from off the pace to win easily at the finish; huge run when second in the Cesarewitch at Newmarket last time, enduring a troublesome passage; hard to beat.
This trip seemed to bring out the best in VINO VICTRIX in the Cesarewitch last time and while he was beaten over 3 lengths the winner Run For Oscar looks a very nice horse and he had a troublesome passage when coming through. He is unexposed over this distance and I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t go one better here. Morando hasn’t won for a long time and is second favourite here which perhaps suggests this lacks strength in depth. Wise Eagle won virtually on the bridle at Redcar before finishing fourth at Doncaster last time. He might emerge as the main danger but does have enough to find on figures. Indefatigable is a talented hurdler who will likely need this on her return.

Wolverhampton 5.00 Another Odyssey (best price 13/8)
Chasing a hat-trick having won nicely over C&D before following up convincingly at Southwell last time; carries a penalty but remains open to further improvement and looks well placed to go in again; likely finishing best.
I’m keen to keep ANOTHER ODYSSEY on side. He impressed again last time and that visual impression was backed up by the clock as well. He should keep improving for a while yet and he is definitely the one to beat. Hopefully Cavendish and Jasey put good pace to the race and things set up nicely for the selection. The former reacted well to cheekpieces winning here last time and if they work again under a penalty he might finish second. Foursome races too freely and will need to settle to have a chance here. Still has potential but a bit to prove at the same time. Heroic Holly sports a visor now but clearly isn’t the most straightforward and I think this looks a tough enough ask in her current form.
