MY AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 5 AT HAWKESBURY ON THURSDAY MORNING!
Race 5 Hawkesbury 4.30 Oriental Tycoon (best price 4/5)
Promising colt who was given a lot to do on debut at Randwick but ran on strongly late for second, sure to improve; stepped forward to miss just a neck at Warwick Farm; should be up to opening his account now.
This looks a good opportunity for the improving ORIENTAL TYCOON to make the breakthrough. He ran a big race on debut given how much ground he had to make up and then went even closer at Warwick Farm last time. The form stacks up and with further progress to come he should be getting his head in front now. Buillt has already had a few more chances than the favourite but did run well at Rosehill on penultimate start and is the most likely danger to the selection. Diamond Drummer ran on strongly for a good second at Hawkesbury last time and looks comfortably best of the rest if improving further. Havlicek has a future but probably needs more time and experience.

Race 8 Ipswich 7.19 Sacred Oath (best price 6/4)
Likeable type who improved to make the breakthrough at Gold Coast back in April; backed that up with a good second over slightly further here on final start; can fire fresh and looks the one they all have to beat.
I’m not sure why Hold On Honey is favourite here as I make SACRED OATH comfortably the one to beat. He is improving all the time and he will be primed for this dropping back in trip slightly. He has trialled well and clearly has a bright future. Hold On Honey was a good third at Newcastle on final start and this race is within range so he is still the danger to the favourite. Bold Ransom finally made the breakthrough winning at Sunshine Coast and looks best of the rest if managing to build on that. The two market leaders look potentially a cut above though. Sassenay didn’t run badly when second at Kilcoy but again this looks tougher so she will probably be up against it to get involved here.
