Likeable filly who overcame inexperience to make a winning debut here at the start of the month, prevailing by a neck at the line; sure to improve with that initial outing under her belt and well placed to make it 2-2.
Plenty of runners here but not a great deal of strength in depth so it looks a great opportunity for MAROON MAGIC to remain unbeaten. She made a bright start winning on debut despite still looking a little rough around the edges and I expect her to be a lot more streetwise here. If she progresses as expected then she should follow up. Continuum has finished second 13 times from 39 attempts with just the 1 win to her name but she will likely run her race again. Bow is unexposed after just a handful of starts so also deserves respect. He will need to better that fifth at Ballina thought to have a say here. It is 14/1 bar the rest and I’m struggling to see anything springing an upset in here.

Race 2 Bathurst 2.49 Motion Legend (best price 6/5)
Improving with experience and looked good getting his head in front at Gosford on penultimate start; beaten less than 2 lengths at Goulburn last time and well placed to get back in the winners enclosure here.
This is unlikely to take much winning so I think MOTION LEGEND can make it 2 wins from his last 3 here. He will go forward from an inside gate and should take plenty of beating. Starane is a decent enough yardstick but he has just the 1 win from 8 attempts so will need to improve again to win this. Imperioness is a nice enough mare who ran well when fourth here last time and she is pretty consistent so likely won’t be far away again. Girragulang was nearer last than first at Dubbo last month so will need to bounce back to get involved here and I’m struggling to see it. Electric Storm only has 1 win from 12 starts and needs more but did at least shape better than recent starts when fourth at Dubbo.
