MY AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 5 AT ASCOT ON SATURDAY!

Race 5 Ascot 6.45 Sniparoochy (best price 6/5)

Exciting mare who brought up a hat-trick of wins showing serious speed to go in again here last month; overall profile is a progressive one now and she should be extremely hard to beat again here; keep on side.

With 7 wins from 16 starts and 5 from 8 over the trip I’m expecting SNIPAROOCHY to be tough to get away from at Ascot on Saturday. She is eyeing up a four-timer and this slight step back up in trip will help her too despite the fact she doesn’t lack speed. She will go hard out the gate and should burn these off. Baby Paris has won 4 from 5 and looks a nice filly herself so should chase the favourite home. She is one I’ll be interested in going forward but perhaps just bumping into one here. Buzzoom ran well when third here last time behind the selection and should be best of the rest but I’m not telling you much there as that is exactly what the market is anticipating as well.

Race 6 Sunshine Coast 5.08 Logan Street Lion (best price 11/8)

Improving with experience and looked better than ever making a winning reappearance at Eagle Farm last time, running on strongly from off the pace; sure to improve on that and his chance looks an obvious one again.

I’m surprised LOGAN STREET LION isn’t a shade of odds-on here given his profile. He is 4 from 6 over the trip and was an impressive winner on return at Eagle Farm. He will come on for the run for sure and should keep improving for a while yet so likely has the measure of this field. The Drover scored here last time and if turned out quickly looks the one most likely to chase this favourite home. Ucalledit is a fair yardstick with 5 wins from 16 starts and should run well for a long way in here too. Lord Markel is in pretty good form and is another one to note but the selection will definitely be tough to beat. Quite a bit of strength in depth here with Starvirgo also a horse that knows how to win.
