NAP – My best tip of the day
Lingfield 12.45 Pocket The Packet (best price 2/1)
Good looking sort who left previous form behind to prevail narrowly on handicap debut at Newcastle; backed that up impressively next time; below par up in trip 3 weeks ago but could still be ahead of his mark down to 5f.
The way POCKET THE PACKET travelled before beating rivals convincingly at Newcastle on penultimate start was quite impressive so I’m willing to forgive him that below par effort up to 7f last time. He drops to the minimum trip for the first time here and it would be no surprise if he was still well handicapped off a mark of just 59. This emphasis on speed should see him a cut above this level. Brazen Beau filly Billy’s Joy shaped well on her first two starts and she might have more to offer now handicapping. South Dakota Sioux is another one that can do better in time and it wouldn’t be a huge shock if he improved enough to be the main danger. Harry With Style could be best of the rest.

Southwell 1.35 Zuckerberg (best price 2/1)
Won easily by 12 lengths at Sedgefield last time justifying strong support in the process; turned out quickly under a 7lb penalty and looks to have found the right race to follow up; Theo Gillard claims a valuable 3lb too.
I know ZUCKERBERG hasn’t always looked the most genuine but he made it look pretty straightforward winning impressively at Sedgefield last week. He is turned out quickly under a penalty and if in the same form should follow up as this looks winnable. Ardmayle is a 10yo now and while he impressed beating Massini Man over C&D back in March he was beaten 16 lengths next time out at Market Rasen and has a bit to prove after that. He usually needs his first run back too so probably worth taking on here. Mexican Boy wasn’t disgraced when fifth at Huntingdon and goes chasing now with the cheekpieces on but he has enough to find to beat this favourite who clearly looks to be in rude health right now.
