NAP – My best tip of the day
Wolverhampton 7.00 Cicely (best price 6/4)
Missed by just a neck over C&D last time looking a little unlucky given the way the winner had all the momentum from off the pace; first-time cheekpieces here and can improve again so taken to reverse the form.
I’m expecting CICELY and City Escape to fight this one out again. It was the latter that prevailed narrowly last time but she had all the momentum swooping wide and the selection just had to fight a bit to get out of her gap and really responded well. She has first-time cheekpieces now and is a 1lb better off so should be up to the task on just her second start for her new yard. City Escape is a couple of years older and not open to as much improvement but she is running really well so shouldn’t be knocked too much. Scarborough Castle continues to run well but he has a habit of finding a couple too good and that may well be the case again here. Not a great deal of strength in depth in this.

Taunton 2.15 She’s A Saint (best price 13/8)
Promising mare who made a bright start winning on hurdles debut at Hexham and has bumped into a couple of good horses since, finding Luccia too strong at Newbury last month; sets a clear standard.
Credrojava is unbeaten and looks a nice mare but SHE’S A SAINT sets a clear standard on form and with further improvement to come can get back to winning ways here. She chased home the exciting Luccia at Newbury and if building on that again will be hard to beat here. It’s not just between the top two though as Lutinebella picked up like a nice horse at Exeter. She has more to come but I think this could be a really good race for the grade so she’ll likely need to improve a fair bit on that to get involved. Ilovethenightlife also won on debut over hurdles and wasn’t disgraced at Uttoxeter but this is probably tougher than that again so she might be vulnerable. Magical Maggie has a point to prove.
