Ran out a convincing winner over a good yardstick over hurdles at Doncaster last year, form well advertised since; unseated early on chase debut last month; can improve and definite potential off this mark.
No surprise to see CALL OF THE WILD a warm order for this. He showed plenty of promise over hurdles and I know he unseated on chase debut at Doncaster last month but it was too early to know how he was going and a mark of just 129 should be well within reach in an easier race. Both Cap Du Mathan and Robin’s Dream could push forward and if they take each other on that would be an ideal scenario. I expect Tom Cannon to give him a patient ride and hopefully he warms to the task. Earth Company is the rank outsider but he shouldn’t be entirely overlooked despite falling last time. He does have a bit to prove but definitely has ability and might run better than his odds suggest here.

Ayr 2.10 Paddy The Horse (best price 5/2)
Likeable type who showed a good attitude to win over hurdles at Hexham on return and backed that up winning well down in trip next time; point winner could be even better over fences so worth chancing.
With enough questions over Masked Crusader this looks a great opportunity for PADDY THE HORSE to make a winning chase debut and complete a hat-trick of wins. He is definitely on an upward trajectory and given he won a point he should take to this discipline and could make into an even better chaser. I’m expecting Jonathon Bewley to bounce him out in front and if he gets into a decent rhythm he will take a lot of beating. Masked Crusader could still run well as he might have won last time but for unseating late. It was far from a convincing round of jumping though and that would have to be a concern. Champ De Gane also has a point to prove in the jumping department.
