NAP – Best tip overnight
MY AUSTRALIAN NAP NEEDS A WINNER AND RUNS AT SANDOWN ON WEDNESDAY!
Race 4 Sandown 6.25 Pacific Ruby (best price 1/1)
Progressive mare who made the breakthrough at Moe back in June and followed up at Sandown before making a winning return at Flemington last month; penny really dropped now and one to keep safe.
Great chance for PACIFIC RUBY to bring up the four-timer. She showed a great attitude to come out on top at Flemington on return and now the penny has dropped she should be tough to beat once more. She will strip fitter and has plenty going for her. Lady Hampton won at Mornington but was held at Moonee Valley last time so needs to bounce back but is unexposed so may well do. Awapuni Princess has the ability to get seriously competitive but seemed to go off the boil towards the end of last campaign so will need to better that form to get involved here. Allegretta is a decent yardstick and she ran well at Flemington so should also enter calculations.

Race 2 Doomben 4.13 Ghostwriter (best price 7/4)
Likeable type who looked back to his best winning well here at the start of the month, hitting the line hard; won 2 of his last 4 now and profile starting to look progressive; worth chancing again.
I’m sticking with GHOSTWRITER to back up that C&D win last time. He looks a horse on the upgrade now and deserves to notch up a few more wins. He has 3 from 17 now but 7 seconds and 1 third so has been ultra consistent throughout. I like the make-up here and he should be coming home strongly once more. Hokahey also arrives in winning form having scored over shorter here last month and she looks the danger to the favourite. Bulloo ran well when second to Tidal Creek last time and that is pretty solid form so she could run well for a long way too. Karlstad was promising initially but has gone off the boil and finished last at Canterbury last time so that wouldn’t be good enough.
