NAP – Best tip overnight
MY AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 5 AT ASCOT ON WEDNESDAY MORNING!
Race 5 Ascot 7.33 Starchienne (best price 10/11)
Progressive mare who came strongly from off the pace to complete the hat-trick at Geraldton earlier this month; improving all the time and step up to a mile with Pike booked for the rides all bodes well.
I see no reason to oppose STARCHIENNE completing the four-timer at Ascot on Wednesday. She is a good looking mare who is improving with every run and the step up to a mile looks sure to suit. William Pike gets the leg up and she has plenty in her favour once more. Eee Pee Cee was a good second at Belmont after winning at Pinjarra but disappointed somewhat when only midfield last time. Still early days with him so if bouncing back could still be the danger. Secret Deploy is also worth mentioning as I do think he’ll do better at some stage but that last run wouldn’t be good enough to see him involved. Bandalera Beau more exposed but did shape better when third at Belmont last time and if building on that might have a squeak to hit the frame.

Race 3 Sale 4.40 Easterly (best price 7/4)
Good looking chestnut filly who clearly needed the experience when down the field on debut but improved with each start since finishing third here and then denied just a nose on final start.
The improving EASTERLY should open her account at Sale on Wednesday morning. She has got better with each start and looked a bit unlucky not to get her head in front on final start denied just a nose at the line. Given plenty of time since she is likely to have filled her frame and looks one to keep very much on side this campaign. Speranzoso has had a few more chances and is 0/6 so needs to run big on return just to get competitive. I think Maravich might pose a greater threat as he showed a fair bit on debut beaten narrowly into second at Warrnambool. Of the rest Bing’s Dream is likely to do better at some point but certainly needs to as there could be a couple of promising types in here so it won’t be easy.
