Thursday’s Australian Horse Racing Tips

NAP – Best tip overnight
Race 7 Geraldton 9.30 Jeanella (best price 1/1)
Progressive filly who has won 2 of her last 3 starts and impressed hitting the line hard to win here earlier this month; obviously open to further improvement and looks well placed to follow up.
No surprise to see JEANELLA a short priced favourite for this. She is a likeable mare who is 2-2 at the track having impressed again to win here last time. She is probably a cut above this level and I’ll be surprised if she is beaten here. The Singing Tiger is more exposed but is still a decent yardstick and looks the one most likely to give her something to think about. He finished well beaten less than a length behind Jupiter Rising last time and a similar run would have him chasing home the favourite here you’d think. Superlove was only beaten narrowly here last time and is another one that could run well but again she is more exposed than the selection so might see her improve past her. Izzy May arrives with confidence high but this is tougher than Belmont.

Race 3 Kembla Grange 3.25 Sports Legend (best price 6/5)
Promising type who tanked through the race before backing out of it late into third at Hawkesbury on return; sure to improve physically from that and can still improve a fair bit too.
Great chance for the improving SPORTS LEGEND to make the breakthrough. He has always looked to have plenty of ability and looked the most likely winner on return before just getting tired in the closing stages. He will strip a lot fitter now and is obviously still open to significant improvement so gets a confident vote to go a couple better here. Bind’s Choice is also going the right way now having finished nearer last than first on debut but quickly came forward to finish third here behind Avebury and will be a threat on that form if improving again. Fiancetto caught the eye finishing second on debut and is another one that could do better so is respected. Headstock is 0/7 now and is becoming a bit frustrating already so best watched. The rest seem up against it too.
