Race 4 Flemington 4.40 Altivo (best price 10/11)

Exciting type who made it a perfect 3-3 running on strongly from off the pace to win at Sandown last time; more in the locker if needed and should take a lot of beating in this field.

This is tougher again but ALTIVO looks destined for the top and I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t bring up the four-timer now. He is getting better with experience and is comfortably the most likely winner as the betting is suggesting. French Emperor landed a hat-trick of wins at this track on penultimate start but was poor last time so needs to bounce back. Typhoon Harmony bounced back when second at Mornington last month and if building on that again may be the one to chase home the favourite.

Race 1 Scone 2.05 Dipsy Doodle (best price 6/4)

Progressive filly who took her form up a notch to make the breakthrough at Warwick Farm and then followed up in good style at Rosehill latest; can improve again so obvious chance.

With the promise of more to come DIPSY DOODLE should be able to bring up the hat-trick at Scone on Saturday. She is getting better with each start and was always doing just enough to hold them at bay at Rosehill last time. This is winnable again and she should justify favouritism. Saltaire was back to form when second at Randwick last month and if building on that again will emerge as the danger. In My Dreams is an intriguing debutant but unless the market speaks hugely for her she should do better for the outing.
