Race 3 Sandown 4.35 Ellen’s Licence (best price 6/4)

Promising mare who created a big impression recently winning at Geelong and then following up at Donald last month; seeks a hat-trick now and can improve again so definitely one to keep firmly on side.

Hard to look past the thriving ELLEN’S LICENCE at Sandown on Wednesday. She is a mare at the top of her game right now and the hat-trick very much looks on the cards now. She has more to offer after just 6 starts and it is no surprise to see her a warm order once more. Beour Bay landed a hat-trick herself before finishing third here last time. If she is back to her best she could threaten the favourite. Of the rest Electric Belle is a solid yardstick but she is more exposed so I think the selection can improve past her. Star Mistress could be capable of better and is another filly to note in a good race.

Race 6 Grafton 6.24 Crafty Eagle (best price 6/4)

Likeable type who was back to his best winning at Randwick back in May; beaten twice since but shaped a lot better when fourth at Sunshine Coast last time; more to come so obvious chance in this.

The promising CRAFTY EAGLE looks poised to strike again. He has won 3 from 8 overall and is building a progressive profile now. This track should suit and no surprise to see him favourite. Flashing Steel is on a real roll having won his last 4 now but this is his toughest ask to date but still looks the danger. Bettcha The Crown has won 2 from his last 3 and if progressing again could also get competitive. Deep Opinions won at this track last time and she is quite a big price. If it all drops right she might be value to hit the frame. The rest seem to be up against it.
