MY AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 7 AT GRAFTON ON THURSDAY MORNING!

Race 7 Grafton 7.05 Zoumon (best price 7/4)

Progressive sort who has taken his form up a few notches recently winning at Rosehill and then following up at Sunshine Coast last time; more to come over this trip and he should complete the hat-trick.

Hard to look past ZOUMON as he bids to complete the hat-trick. He impressed at Rosehill and then followed up with a bit in hand at Sunshine Coast last time. He likely has more to come as his stamina is drawn out further and he is the most likely winner in this field as the betting is suggesting. Benaud won at Wyong last time but is a danger on that but his overall record isn’t too inspiring with just the 2 wins. Spirit Ridge is more exposed but he has the form to have a squeak so don’t completely underestimate albeit it does look a tough enough task.

Race 7 Gosford 6.45 Lovero (best price 15/8)

Likeable mare who is building a nice profile; won at Gosford 4 starts back and has held her form well in stronger races than this recently; scope to improve further and looks well placed to win this.

The step back up slightly in trip should be perfect for LOVERO and in an easier race I’ll be surprised if she doesn’t get back to winning ways. She is still open to improvement after just 8 starts and really should be a cut above this field if all goes to plan. Shezanalister has been knocking on the door and might be the danger but I think she’ll only win if the favourite runs below par. Flying Shelly took her form up a notch to score at this track on penultimate start but then completely blew out at Randwick finishing last so arrives here with enough to prove.
